Senior Software Engineer, API/Fullstack

About the product:

Headspace is seeking a talented Senior Software Engineer, API/Fullstack to join its Employer Growth’s Team. You will be responsible for engineering the systems that drive member enrollment and activation for our enterprise partners. As part of this team, you will move quickly to prototype, architect, and execute technical solutions that remove friction from the onboarding process and maximize the number of employees who successfully discover and adopt Headspace. We are open to both full-stack or backend-focused candidates.

You will help us bring new features to life to meet our mission, while also helping push our platform to newer technologies as we embrace the cutting edge. What you will do:

• Design and develop high-volume, low-latency applications for mission-critical systems
• Write well designed, testable, performant, and efficient code
• Contribute in all phases of the development lifecycle, from collaborating with product stakeholders, writing tech specs & RFCs, to feature release and operations
• Build web apps and APIs, primarily on Typescript/Node.js for our AWS-based services
• Produce specifications and determine operational feasibility
• Work with product and engineering teams to release services that operate at our high scale

Required Skills:

• At least 7+  years of hands-on software development experience, building APIs, (micro)services and (micro)sites
• Ability to work independently with minimal supervision on projects, while being comfortable collaborating with product managers, designers, and other engineers, to define, design and ship new features in a remote environment
• Experience integrating backend systems with Braze (or similar enterprise Customer Engagement Platforms). You should be comfortable architecting data flows via the Braze User Track and User Export APIs, handling webhooks, and managing complex user attributes/events.
• Experience with unit, integration, and end-to-end testing, as well as using CI/CD system
• Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal. Demonstrated ability to make tough technical decisions based off of requirements, constraints, and trade-offs

Preferred Skills:

• BS/MS degree in Computer Science, with 7+ years of software engineering experience
• Experience with Node.JS and Typescript
• Strong understanding of database management, object-oriented programming, and web application development
