The opportunity

We are seeking a highly motivated and exceptionally detail-oriented Quality Assurance Engineer to play a crucial role in ensuring the integrity and reliability of our cross-platform native clients. You will be instrumental in the final stages of product development, helping us achieve production-ready quality while simultaneously building the foundations of our test automation strategy.

Key responsibilities

• Native Client Qualification: Lead the qualification and sign-off process for major production releases of our native applications across Windows, Mac, iOS, and Android.
• Manual and Exploratory Testing: Execute comprehensive manual, regression, and exploratory testing with a keen eye for subtle defects, usability issues, and platform-specific behaviors.
• Test Design & Documentation: Create, maintain, and execute clear, concise, and detailed test plans, test cases, and quality metrics that cover all functional and non-functional requirements.
• Defect Management: Identify, document, and meticulously track bugs, providing clear reproduction steps and necessary supporting data to the development team.
• Test Automation: Actively contribute to the design, development, and maintenance of our automated test suites and frameworks, with a focus on implementing BDD using tools like Cucumber and utilizing frameworks such as WebdriverIO.
• Collaborate closely with developers to understand architecture, reproduce defects, and ensure issues are resolved promptly and completely.

Required Qualifications

• Proven experience as a Quality Assurance Engineer or similar role.
• Demonstrated ability to be highly detail-oriented, methodical, and persistent in finding and reporting defects.
  
• Direct experience testing and qualifying native desktop (Mac or Windows) and/or native mobile (iOS or Android) applications for production release.
• Familiarity with the principles of test automation and experience working with modern test automation tools/frameworks.
• Must be proficient in spoken and written English.
• Must be able to pass a background check.
• Ability to travel to the U.S. as needed for company meetings or events (nice to have)

Bonus Qualifications

• Hands-on experience implementing Behavior-Driven Development (BDD) using Cucumber.
• Hands-on experience with the WebdriverIO test automation framework.
• Experience with testing frameworks for native applications (e.g., Appium, XCUITest, Espresso).
• Experience in a continuous integration/continuous deployment (CI/CD) environment.
• Working knowledge of tools like Jira, TestRail, or similar test management systems.
