.Net Backend Engineer

About This Role

As a .NET Backend Engineer, you’ll design, build, and support scalable APIs and backend services that power our real-time ambient documentation, data synchronization, and billing workflows.

You’ll collaborate closely with iOS/Web, DevOps, QA, and Product to deliver secure, resilient integrations with leading EHR platforms in a HIPAA-regulated environment.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

Design & Build Services

• Implement performant .NET (Core) APIs and background services that are observable, fault-tolerant, and easy to maintain.

EHR Integrations

• Develop and maintain secure interfaces (e.g., REST/FHIR, webhooks, batch pipelines) between EHR systems and internal services.
• Handle mapping, data validation, and error handling.

Quality & Reliability

• Write unit and integration tests.
• Participate in code reviews.
• Contribute to CI/CD pipelines.
• Monitor services and proactively remediate issues.

Security & Compliance

• Build with least-privilege access, encryption, and auditability to meet HIPAA/PHI requirements.

Operational Excellence

• Help create dashboards, alerts, and on-call runbooks that provide real-time visibility into integration health and data flows.

Cross-Functional Collaboration

• Work with iOS/frontend, QA, and Product to deliver end-to-end features.
• Refine requirements and provide technical input.

Qualifications

• 4+ years of professional backend experience with .NET (Core) and C# building production APIs and services.
• Proficiency with RESTful API design, asynchronous processing, and relational databases (e.g., SQL Server, PostgreSQL).
• Experience writing automated tests and participating in code reviews.
• Comfortable working in an Agile/Scrum environment.
• Familiarity with Azure (App Services/Functions, Storage, Databases) or a comparable cloud platform.
• Strong debugging, problem-solving, and ownership mindset, with the ability to work independently while communicating clearly.
