About This Role
As an iOS Engineer, you will help build the next generation of iScribeHealth’s clinical documentation experience.
This is a hands-on role where you’ll ship real features in our native Swift and SwiftUI/UIKit application, write clean and performant code, and work within our mobile architecture. You’ll collaborate closely with product, design, backend, and QA, bringing solid technical judgment to the features you own.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
Feature Development & Architecture
Design, build, and ship features in our iOS app using Swift and SwiftUI/UIKit.
Work within and contribute to the mobile codebase’s architecture — including state management, persistence, and networking.
Help shape technical direction for new product areas.
Quality & Craft
Raise the bar on code quality through thoughtful code review and automation testing.
Maintain a strong testing discipline, writing unit and integration tests with XCTest and XCUITest.
Use AI coding tools thoughtfully to move faster without sacrificing quality.
Collaboration & Communication
Work closely with product, design, backend, and QA to deliver seamless, end-to-end solutions.
Communicate clearly and effectively as part of a fully remote engineering team.
Willingness to ask questions to establish full understanding of product requirements and scope in a complicated healthcare landscape.
Qualifications
4+ years of professional native iOS development experience.
Strong knowledge of Swift, including modern language features and idiomatic patterns.
Production experience with both SwiftUI and UIKit.
Understanding of MVVM architecture.
Commitment to testing—hands-on experience writing unit and integration tests with XCTest and XCUITest.
Working knowledge of Swift Concurrency—async/await, structured concurrency, and an understanding of common pitfalls.
Comfort and enthusiasm for using AI coding tools as part of your day-to-day workflow.
Understanding of security best practices—secure data handling, authentication and authorization patterns, and secrets management.
Strong written communication skills, enabling effective collaboration within our fully remote engineering team.
Strong attention to detail, with a track record of catching edge cases and inconsistencies before they reach production.
Nice to Have
Familiarity with persistence frameworks like GRDB or Core Data.
Experience with Combine and reactive patterns.
Background in healthcare, HIPAA-regulated environments, or other compliance-heavy domains.
