About The Role:
The Data Operations Analyst plays a critical role in transforming messy, raw product data into high-quality metrics that our retail and brand customers rely on to analyze performance and make decisions. The core of this role is applying strong judgment to shape imperfect data into consistent, scalable, and analytically meaningful outputs.
Each customer has unique business questions, data structures, and definitions of success. The Data Operations Analyst works closely with internal teams to interpret these needs, resolve ambiguity in the underlying data, and design solutions that balance accuracy, scalability, and customer expectations. This role requires strong analytical thinking, comfort working with incomplete or inconsistent data, and accountability for delivering reliable metrics at scale.
As Our Data Operations Analyst, You Will:
- Transform raw, messy product and transaction data into structured, customer-ready metrics.
- Apply judgment to resolve ambiguity in data, including handling incomplete, incorrect, or inconsistent inputs.
- Define and implement rules and logic that make data analytically meaningful and comparable over time.
- Build and maintain mappings, benchmarks, and normalization approaches that allow customer data to be analyzed at scale.
- Execute product categorization and attribution when needed as part of broader metric-building workflows.
- Identify data quality issues and determine appropriate tradeoffs when perfect data is not available.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to plan and deliver data projects on time and with high accuracy.
- Ensure consistency and reliability of outputs across customers while accounting for customer-specific nuances.
- Continuously improve processes and workflows to increase efficiency, accuracy, and scalability.
- Take ownership of deliverables and be accountable for the quality and usability of the final data.
You Are Likely To Succeed If You Have…
- 1–3 years of experience working in a data-focused role such as data operations, analytics, research, or data quality.
- Strong analytical judgment and comfort making decisions in ambiguous or imperfect data environments.
- Experience turning raw data into structured outputs, metrics, or analyses that others rely on.
- The ability to reason through edge cases, inconsistencies, and tradeoffs in real-world data.
- High attention to detail paired with an understanding of how data decisions impact downstream analysis.
- Strong problem-solving and critical-thinking skills.
- The ability to manage multiple projects and priorities while maintaining accuracy and accountability.
- Clear communication skills, including the ability to explain data assumptions and decisions to internal stakeholders.
- Experience using SQL, Python, or similar tools for data exploration, validation, or automation.
- Advanced English proficiency (B2–C1 or higher).
Technical Skills (Helpful but Not Required):
- Comfort working with large datasets using spreadsheets, internal tools, or data platforms.
- Familiarity with data transformation, data quality checks, or analytics workflows.
- Exposure to product, retail, or consumer data is a plus.
