Our product is used by hospitals, health insurance companies and other companies that pay for healthcare in the US.

Dev/ops team immediate goal is to maintain velocity of development while improving our infrastructure reliability and efficiency.

The Role

As a Dev/Ops Manager you will take a lead of 4 talented dev/ops engineers to develop and support our big AWS based infrastructure. Your key areas of focus will include the following topics:

• Development and maintenance of our Data Lake infrastructure that ingests and serves petabytes of data every month
• Establish a reliable and transparent infrastructure support process with a direct target on automating manual routines to free up the team time
• Establishing a long-term dev/ops vision and roadmap in topics like infrastructure management, self-service platform abilities, observability, disaster response and recovery, testing
• Take the lead on cost tracking and management. Currently all cost tracking are being done by the data department lead – you will need to take that part from him
• Establishing and enforcing company-wide guidelines and rules from naming conventions and tags to network management and EC2 instance types
• Push resource efficiency motto, figure out ways to reuse resources instead of create new ones
• Establish processes for infra modernization – we want to never brag about “outdated versions” of things from EKS to EC2 instance generations
• Many other things. We’re not a 20-years enterprise, so we have more things to build, believe us

This is a full time management role. While we will not against you to work on dev/ops scope yourself, we will always expect that you will touch the code only after you completed all of your management routines for the day/week.

Requirements

• 2+ years of team management experience. This is a full-time management role
• 8+ years of experience in the Dev/Ops roles, preferably in a data-intensive environment.
• Strong knowledge of AWS, especially networking, EKS, EC2, RDS, S3, IAM, etc…
• Proficiency in IaC and config management tooling (Terraform or CF)
• Proficiency in containerization and orchestration tooling (Docker, k8s(EKS))
• Good Python knowledge for infrastructure purposes is a huge advantage
• Ability to work effectively in a remote environment.
