Senior Full Stack Engineer (frontend oriented)

Position Overview:

We are seeking a highly skilled and self-motivated Senior/Staff Software Engineer to help get product into our customers’ hands as quickly as possible and then iterate. You will play a crucial, early, and influential role in building the product and our software platform. You will participate in frontend development, and work closely with the founders and our UX/UI designer to create high quality software that delivers amazing consumer product experiences.

Requirements

• Love working closely with founders and engineers to deliver world-class products.
• Proven ability to succeed in a self-directed environment in a similar software development role.
• Strong software development skills. Fundamentals are more important than knowledge of specific languages, libraries, architectures, etc.
• Proficiency in HTML, CSS, Javascript/Typescript, ideally building consumer-grade web experiences. (HTMX + Alpine.js as a big plus)
• Experience developing and deploying on the Java platform (JVM), using the Java language, or Kotlin, or Scala.
• Experience with AWS cloud infrastructure and devops automation as a big plus. We love to leverage IaaS and write a bit of extra code so we don’t have to baby-sit systems.
• Excellent communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to iterate quickly with stakeholders, designers, product managers and other engineers.
• Strong appreciation for being a great teammate and belief in developing camaraderie through humility, respect, and trust.

Responsibilities:

• Frontend Development: Lead the design, development, and maintenance of scalable, high-performance web applications, covering both front-end development.
• Architecture and Design: Contribute to architectural decisions and design scalable solutions that align with our product goals and technical requirements.
• Product Iteration: Work closely with the founding team and UX/UI designer to rapidly prototype, iterate, and release product features based on user feedback and business needs.
• Code Quality and Best Practices: Ensure high code quality through code reviews, automated testing, and adhering to best practices in software development.
• Collaboration and Mentorship: Collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams and mentor junior engineers, fostering a culture of continuous learning and improvement.
• Scalability and Performance: Implement robust performance monitoring and optimization strategies to ensure the platform can handle increasing user loads and data volumes efficiently.
