BellXcel company has an internal product Arly, a time-saving end-to-end youth program management software system that allows directors and their staff to seamlessly manage their programs so they can spend less time dealing with their program logistics and paperwork, and more time focused on what truly matters most: elevating the potential of youth.
Product’s users: Youth program directors, camp directors, camp/program staff, certified teachers, facilitators, program administrators, camp counselors, guardians/parents, youth volunteers, and program volunteers.
Position Overview
We are looking for a skilled DevOps Engineering Manager to lead our DevOps team in delivering scalable, reliable, and secure infrastructure for Arly, our cutting-edge EdTech SaaS platform. This role will focus on optimizing our CI/CD pipelines, cloud infrastructure, and automation processes to support the platform’s seamless performance and operational
excellence.
In this role, you will manage a team of DevOps engineers, driving initiatives that ensure efficient deployment of the Arly platform and services and maintain and monitor the platform’s infrastructure. Your work will directly contribute to Arly’s mission of enabling youth program directors and their staff to save time on logistics and focus on youth potential. The ideal candidate is proactive, collaborative, and technically adept, with experience in managing cloud environments and implementing infrastructure as code, and an interest in fostering a culture of innovation and continuous improvement.
Responsibilities
Lead, mentor, and support the professional growth of a team of DevOps and security engineers, fostering a collaborative, high-performance environment.
Plan, prioritize, and allocate work for the team, aligning tasks with the company’s strategic goals and adapting to evolving priorities as needed.
Define and implement DevOps strategies, best practices, and standards, ensuring alignment with industry trends and organizational needs.
Oversee and optimize CI/CD pipelines, infrastructure as code (IaC), and automation, identifying and addressing bottlenecks to accelerate deployment cycles.
Manage and optimize cloud infrastructure, balancing cost, performance, and scalability, and implementing effective monitoring and alerting mechanisms.
Develop and enforce access control policies across systems, ensuring compliance with security standards and safeguarding sensitive information.
Ensure system reliability, observability, scalability, and security by leading initiatives on incident management, disaster recovery planning, and proactive capacity planning.
Collaborate cross-functionally with development, operations, and product teams to support a cohesive and efficient software delivery lifecycle.
Champion a culture of continuous improvement and learning by promoting DevOps principles, facilitating training opportunities, and encouraging feedback loops within the team.
Ensure compliance with regulatory and industry standards (e.g., SOC 2) by collaborating with the security and compliance teams to embed requirements into DevOps workflows.
Evaluate and implement emerging DevOps and cloud technologies, ensuring the team uses the latest tools to support high performance, security, and efficiency.
Qualifications
5+ years of experience in DevOps or related field
3+ years of team management experience
Relevant knowledge of cloud platforms (Azure preferred)
Proficiency in a scripting language (Python, Bash, etc.)
OOP Programming background a major plus (C#, Java, TypeScript, etc)
Experience with containerization and orchestration (Docker, Kubernetes, ECS, etc.)
Relevant knowledge of monitoring and logging tools (ELK a major plus)
Relevant knowledge of Azure DevOps YAML Pipelines
Experience with managing and deploying a microservices architecture SaaS Product
Relevant knowledge of security best practices in DevOps
Education:
Bachelor’s degree in computer science or related field or equivalent experience
Microsoft or Azure related certifications are a plus
